Licensing and device changes
Can I reinstall Premium anytime?
Yes. Once purchased, Premium remains tied to your app store account. On a new device, restore it in settings via Restore Purchase.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes. Your play and profile data stay local on the device. Internet is mainly needed for Premium purchase and purchase restore.
How do I move data to a new phone?
In Premium, use Backup Database on the old device and Restore Database on the new one.
Does family sharing apply?
No. Each person needs an individual license.
Was the app developed or sponsored by USGA, The R&A, or a national golf federation?
No. Handicap Forecast is an independent app and was not developed, sponsored, reviewed, approved, or licensed by the USGA, The R&A, or any national golf federation.
The app follows implemented USGA/WHS calculation rules, but it does not provide an official Handicap Index or an official handicap certificate.
USGA, The R&A, World Handicap System (WHS), and related names, logos, and marks are the property of their respective rights holders.
Data and privacy
Does the app transmit player data?
No. Round and profile data stay in the local device database. Profile data are used for personalization, prefilled entry fields, and Course Handicap calculations.
Handicap calculation
Is HCPI calculated according to WHS/USGA logic?
Yes. The app follows the implemented rule set. See HCPI Glossary for background.
Can I use the app HCPI as official proof in tournaments?
No. For official records, the federation result (including final PCC) is decisive.
Are Soft Cap, Hard Cap and exceptional result logic considered?
Yes. These mechanisms are part of the calculation, including Soft Cap, Hard Cap and exceptional score handling.
Scoring Record import
Can I import my Scoring Record?
Yes. In Premium, import is available directly from your profile as Scoring Record import.
Can imported data be edited later?
Yes. Imported entries are stored as editable records.
Can the app fetch Scoring Record data directly from my federation?
No. There is no direct federation API connection.
